Found this on the tubes, and figured I'd share it with you guys. At least to break the monotony around here of people breaking leases, LLs stealing security deposits and people complaining about gravity and the sounds this force of nature creates on their ceilings.
This is quite odd, compared to the "Hoarders" episodes I've seen. In those cases, the hoarders never want to get rid of or let anything leave the property. The person in the video seems to have just left everything behind.
I guess the lesson here, as a landlord, is only buy *small* houses to rent out - if a tenant "hoards" a 4,000 sq/ft house, it'll be a lot more work to empty!
well, yes the house was disgusting, but this guy did not give her proper notice or file an eviction. And he just showed up that following Monday. . .
She didn't have any money to pay the rent, and she agreed to leave (according to him)...
An eviction would just result in a bigger unpaid bill for her, and even more trouble renting in the future - hopefully any potential new landlord checks her references...
wonder what the clean up cost was? NASTY.. I wouldnt clean that place for less than a GRAND! just unbeleviable .. Would need "shots" after I am sure ..
Yes, you are correct. Obviously, its the landlord's fault that the woman has deep and troubling mental issues.
He should be jailed.
/sarcasm
It's the landlord fault for not terminating the lease and kick the tenant out when the condition of the property is not inhabitable. If you show up at your rental property and your tenant is leaving stained toilet tissue around, would you not do something about it? Like I said, this is from long neglect.
