Just watch out for the doggie mines... grab a large beach towel and sun umbrella and a small pool for the feet and enjoy. You pay rent you should have a common area for enjoying the out doors..You may start something as in a block party....
I have a common area with BBQ grills........ but the chiggers are really bad here in middle TN.

Chiggers a little nasty bug that borrows into your skin and sucks your blood. The only way too remove is a hot needle and touch there rear end till they back out of your skin.. then grab with tweezers and pop them..

Doesn't sound like fun.

the only common area i hated seeing my old neighbor use was the hallway.......because it was ALL THE TIME. sat out there smoking cigs.....but would smoke weed in their apartment......then let their kids/grandkids run the hall way. just not real neighborly

Chiggers are too small to see. They sit on top of your skin and eat tiny amounts of skin, and itch very much like a mosquito bite. No burrowing or any hot tweezer nonsense!

do you have any parks near by?

that would be nicer than sitting in a parking lot, but I do understand, being out is always nice.

we go to the roof and sit sometimes, we have good views and no one knows we go up there as the doors are alarmed, but I figured out how to open them, quietely. LOL

My neighbour sits in the common area next to our balcony space and it kind a gets irritating since he can hear every word that we speak and we feel sort of uncomfortable when he brings his beach chair and works on his laptop or book. Its like invading our privacy, we cant leave the door open and talk. In my opinion it is wrong to sit in the common area.

It's called the common area for a reason. You are free to shut your door and your blinds if you feel your privacy is being invaded.

I bet it's really irritating when you're trying to enjoy some fresh air and sunshine and your neighbors stand in their doorway and make snide comments about the common areas.
