We have a couple in our building and the guy is a jerk, straight out. He is loud, slams the front door, keeps his door open to watch what is going on, and when he has company he acts like a 10 year old on his first sleep over.

I kept my front door open when I lived in the duplex many years ago and currently I have my desk on my enclosed with windows front porch so I can be in the natural light during the day and see what is going on.

If there is an issue that is against the apartment complex rules, make detailed notes regarding the issue with dates and times and pass it along to the complex management.

Jared...thanks for making shoot tea out my nose!!

OP...if the noise is a concern, talk to your landlord. He's allowed to keep his door open if he chooses...unless the lease states otherwise. We all have large front patios and balconies and we keep our doors open quite a bit. Not everyone is a hermit and wants to be locked away in a dark unit.
