So I have been fixing up the place where we moved out of recently after living there for 4 years, with rent paid on time each month, but I had a few questions, because the landlord's realtor has been doing quite a bit of nitpicking. I haven't heard from the landlords yet, but I wanted to be prepared in all kinds of scenarios. Would really appreciate any advice on here -

I removed the crayon marks on the walls by cleaning the walls, and also painting some of the walls in colors that I got from the landlord. Some paint touched the ceiling in a few places, and the realtor was like they will have to paint the ceiling, and the trim, and maybe touch up the walls too. I wanted to ask - are we liable to pay for the painting again?? I already removed the marks, that qualified for damage to the walls, and there are no marks on the walls now.

I got the carpet cleaned by professional cleaners, but like I mentioned in a previous thread, the carpet is 10 years old and has gone through wear and tear. The landlord said they'll have to get it cleaned again. According to the lease, we have to get it cleaned once and give them the receipt, which we did. Are we liable to pay, if they get it cleaned again, and say that it wasn't done properly the first time? I can't believe they're trying to clean a 10 year old builder-provided carpet, instead of replacing it.

The gas stove has scratches towards the top, near the clock/timer, where this one cleaning person we hired used abrasive scrubbers to clean, and scratched and removed the black paint. Now will we have to pay for a brand new gas stove too?? The realtor was like, the stove is scratched, and the landlords won't like that..

Is there anyone I can contact who can represent us, or talk on our behalf to the landlords, in case any issues arise? How much would an attorney typically charge? I don't want to spend more money on this damn rental.
