And, since I now own three cars instead of four, maintenance will be easier (not to mention fuel costs).
How does the number of cars you own affect the fuel cost? Most people are going to drive a certain number of miles regardless of the number of cars they own. Do you just start them up and let them run or something?

Most cars from that era if they were lucky got 15 mpg. Therefore, one less car would be less fuel to purchase.

But he can only drive one at a time. And it's not like his other car is a Prius; without the VIP around he'll just drive the Town Car or the Fleetwood more often.

Because it cost less to refuel 3 car than to refuel 4.
And when I start them up, it's always to drive them.
Thanks, your thread reminded me that I should fire up my old Fury...I haven't driven (or started) it in 3 or 4 years. It's kept in a climate controlled garage, so it hasn't deteriorated much....I just hope I remembered to drain the gas out of it.
It's a 1970 former Virginia State Police car with 440-4bbl and all the police stuff (A/C cut-out switch and "certified" speedometer!). I bought it at State surplus auction in '75 or '76 for $650. I picked it out because it was a sargeant's unmarked car and in much better shape than the marked cars...and no holes in the roof for the "cherry" light.
Those cars were funny...unmarked but with the jet black paint, spotlight, and long whip antenna on the rear deck, it had "the man" wrote all over it. LOL.
Did the 66 model have the 383 commando engine option? my book says a 66 vip book value for a #3 car is 6300. Is the car a true #2? If so the books says 9800. #1 is right off the show room and they are very rare indeed. The book say a #1 is 14k... Did you get your price?

Yes, someone did read off the value of it to me over the phone. He has a recent issue of a price guide magazine. Sometimes, the values do seem higher than actual selling prices, though.
Yes, my '66 did have the 383-4 bbl commando engine. It is/was probably a #3.5 car. It did have some surface rust.

But without the VIP taking part of your driving time, you'll be refilling the other three more often.
