I think I made out ok. My letter says Medicare is going DOWN to 99.90 and my check is going UP. And my Advantage Plan is staying the same: zero. So I am $45 ahead each month. Whoopee !!!! I can put gas in the car !!!!

I'm glad my Advantage Plan is free too! Also my Part D.
I got a call...several actually...from somone who was trying to 'help me' not pay for Part B at all. Well, I went through that once before when I was unemployed long term, got it paid for for about four months, but THEN I went back to work. I had to pay back part of it. I told the person who called that I wasn't complaining about paying $100 mo., or less, for health coverage but they were REALLY insistant! I finally told them to go ahead and mail me the papers and if I changed my mind I'd get back to them. I haven't and won't. If I qualify at all it's 'just barely'.
Percentile changes only add to the gap between those at the top and those at the bottom. I would rather have seen $50 or $60 for every recipient
Funny you should mention this. Just last week I read where it was better to decline early Soc Sec retirement benefits because of the COLA differential. It made financial sense - kind of like earning compound interest. So, my current plan is to defer benefits and rely on retirement savings until I hit full retirement age. (Granted, there is bipartisan support to reduce the COLA by changing the method of calculation but it will still be a percentage of the beneficiary's benefit.)
Guess we make out OK. Our SS payments will go up. My Part B premium will go down. Our pension plan reimburses me for the Part B premium anyway and we pay no premiums for our health care - major medical for my wife, Medicare supplement for me. Best of all, we don't need Part D for prescriptions. No complaints as long as NobamaCare doesn't mess things up for us.
That's my plan. Turned 64 in Sept., so only six more years to go. Wife will begin her SS next year at age 62. Her family has had short life spans and mine long. With the 32% increase + any COLA's maybe I will be able to pay the income taxes, real estate taxes, sales taxes, excise taxes, medicare taxes, gasoline taxes, capital gains, employment taxes (will have to continue to work) utility fees (NC video service tax & many others). What did I forget?
