Do you anticipate it will be easy to find a part-time job that pays more than minimum wage?

IIRC, Nice4 has a skill-set, so NO PROBLEM.

The PT jobs I have taken pay $28 - $40/hr cuz I have a needed skillset.
I work for $20- $30/hr (at their insistence) for friends that use me to fill in for derelict employees. (late / drunk / non-shows).

One simple thing I do to keep employable is to have my CDL Class A (Tractor trailer / doubles) and Passenger endorsement and DOT cards current. I can always pick up a $20/hr gig doing that, but usually bid it by the route. I can get much better pay during the winter driving Mtns on weekend runs. (holidays even better).

If I want $500 for a toy or trip, I just take a weekend trucking run that the normal driver wants time off.

A $500 weekend will keep me traveling for 3 weeks ! There are EZ'r ways to make $500 ! but I enjoy driving long distances at night in rotten winter weather (keeps me awake).

Generally I do cabinetmaking, building / repairing, machining, CAD design, toolmaking, welding, Diesel Mechanics all from home. Or rent Out my Excavation Equipment (with or without me). Or do some custom hauling (from rocks to furniture)
Medical and legal document transport is a good gig in a 50 mpg VW!

I have a 'retired' friend doing 'directional drilling'. BIG demand at the moment. He can make several thousand $$ in a week.

Another retiree does AK fishing on a very ez private boat. $40k in 6 weeks
Several do Medivac and Wildland Fire Engine boss (Leadership position...little risk required / OK for retiree)... ~ $5k/ week. (But these have to work SUMMER ) Not my idea of retirement PT work.

Another does FEMA relief work (very common for retirees)

A couple friends are Court Bailiffs for decent wage.

Many retirees doing Medical transcription or Dental Hygiene. PT

Several teach at colleges. (~$50. hr for teaching and prep)
Playing Music and waiting / hosting at upscale joint / resort hotel can pay well!.

I would think finding any job outside my career field would be near impossible.

I work in a highly regulated field that requires a licensed responsible managing employee for all locations a company does business. For minimum wage, working 40 hours a week, I will be a responsible managing employee license holder as long as I don't have to work more than 1 hour a week and for a company that's a real steal.
