Also no laundry done today. but I have shined silver and emptied junk drawers. Enjoyed my champagne and a Commissare Montalbano marathon.
Oh no. I'm on my third load of laundry - catching up after being out of town for the holidays. Never heard it was bad luck. Actually I was rather disappointed in my Christmas dinner this year (at a relative's house) so am making up for it today by having fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, and sweet potato casserole. Then it is back to the healthy food (after I finish the leftovers).
My mother always insisted on serving us black-eyed peas on New Year's Day. Even after i was grown, she'd make me come over to eat them. I had nothing but bad luck those years and I wondered why the black-eyed peas never worked for me. Once her dementia got too bad for her to cook, I never ate black-eyed peas again -- and, coincidentally, my luck changed for the (much) better. In fact, the years since I stopped eating black-eyed peas have been my best of all.
Everybody knows you've got to eat GREENS and black eyed peas to have money. Didn't yo mamma teach you anything?
Boy, am I in trouble! Not only didn't I have my black eyed peas this year I did my laundry too!! Oh no!!
Same here.
My sister made the whole black eyed peas / hamhocks / collard greens for me when I was a teenager, living with her for a short time. (She was 10 years older than me).
I've never eaten that "stuff" again.
Ick.
Disgusting
