I think seniors say age 65 plus should be able to do what they want. MM or just want a buzz at some point people have to understand time is limited. If I make it to 65 all bets are off. Hopefully the plumbing is still working.
My MIL, around 88, is in acute pain 24-7 and has to sleep in a recliner chair. She uses her car once a week but will have to stop that soon. In her case and so many others, meditation and yoga aren't going to cut it. She's unable to take the usual painkillers, they have all had terrible side effects. Who knows, she may not be able to take MM either (although my friend with MS would). I think that MM would not be legalized if it involved "being stoned out of your mind for hours on end." The medical profession would be opposing it and so would law enforcement. But I appreciate your POV.
DON"T tell me that something is not going to "cut it", unless you try it first. You have no idea what you are talking about.
The secret to alcohol is to STOP before you reach stupid. Granted it's often a thin line between relaxed and stupid, but if you pay attention, you can do it. LOL
Absolutely, you better believe it, I will use it when my arthritis pain in hands and feet gets so bad I can't sleep at night, or for the times I sit still doing nothing and the pain hits like a wave due to weather changes. I will take it in brownies or other treats, or maybe a tincture in liquid. That will be researched when we get out there.
Narcotics do nothing but make me sleep, no matter how low dosage. NSAIDs are useless for the deep bone-on-bone aching pain. I can't sit in a hot bath all day long. I'm hoping the move to the mountains will be a better climate for me, along with the moderate winters.
If I had pain and it was helpful to relieve that pain, I would eat it - but I doubt I would smoke it. I have no interest in getting stoned or damaging my lungs.
Oh. And for me, it would be important that it was pure/organic - not sprayed with pesticides - and there is no way to guarantee that currently (unless you grow it yourself).

I think you're being a bit harsh with the OP. She knows what her MIL is and is not able to do. You don't.
