I never noticed this in any of my family or wife's. Often its a time when men become more mild and largely family orientated.I am sure some become angry but not all by far. the same could be said of women:IMO.

Hmmm....70. Isn't that the time in a man's life when he 'can't get no, no satisfaction'.

Perhaps no, no satisfaction is why they become grumpy. So if at 72 they become cheery should the wife become suspicious?

Assuredly.

On another note, I've been rather grumpy all my life and just in the past few years have become a tiny bit cheery (not a word you'd use for a triple Capricorn ruled by old man Saturn, LOL). At any rate, I find cheery people really annoying. I was thinking today that few things rub me the wrong way more than hearing someone on the radio (not seeing them) speaking and sounding like they're smiling at the same time. Sugary cheery. Like that commentator on the broadcast Metropolitan Opera, what's his name.

My ex used to always say he looked forward to sitting on the front porch with his basset hound, jug of whiskey, and shotgun .

I can only think of two guys I know who are that age. One is very friendly and loving. The other had anger issues when he was younger but has mellowed somewhat. (He still flips out, but less often.)
