I recently saw somewhere that you can ask for "senior" coffee at McDonalds. it is not advertised.
Is there a website or app that lists all discounts seniors are eligible for?
I know about hotel rates for seniors.
we have senior rate tickets for subway trains, national parks etc. some theaters offer senior matinee for movies but i don't always which theater, what days, and what times.
do you have a way of keeping track of these and use them?
It is my understanding that if you do not ask for a senior rate, they don't automatically offer it. And with coffee, the senior rate almost always applies to the small size. Other sizes are regular price.
I got a senior small coffee yesterday at McDonald's and it was 93 cents.
It must vary according to different parts of the country because I know of few senior discounts around here. We go out to lunch once in a while and it's cheaper but that's because it's the lunch special, not a senior special. One time we did go somewhere on Amtrak and got a senior discount though.
Thanks Arwenmark. I enjoyed when I was finally 55 & got the senior discount at Goodwill. But I was not pleased when they kept asking me a year before that, chuckle.

I have also noticed that senior discounts vary by store, and yes you need to ask. It is nice that some places offer them.
Well, you can always figure that they don't automatically offer you a senior discount because you don't look old enough to be a senior, and maybe it's even true sometimes. But you know you have arrived when they give you the discount without asking.
