I'm confused, and I would be grateful if some of the smart folks on here could help. I am 55 and my wife is 59. In regards to Social Security, our plan was for me to start collecting at age 62, and my wife would file and restrict her benefits to spousal benefits. Then at age 70, she would begin taking her full benefit.
Is this still possible after the recent change? I know file and suspend has been eliminated, but I cannot find a clear answer to our situation.
even at full retirement age your wife can no longer elect to take spousal . she always gets her own just like it works pre fra.
