My condolences. I was curious about the details and to make sure everything was still OK. I checked the online police reports for your town. Nothing has been posted yet, although there are reports from the day before and even one report from today. I guess this incident will be posted soon. Again sorry about your ordeal.

It's really sad, but crime is rising in many areas. Here in Indianapolis, there are multiple shot almost every day - this weekend, a 13 year old kid was shot in the leg by a drive-by gone wrong while in bed at 4:30 in the morning

Serious Conversation: Same thing here. It's ridiculous. Seems like one or two are shot almost daily.

Recently there have been some knifings.

How crazy our world is becoming.

Most police will tell you this. It's not unusual for them to come back in few months or so. They know what you have and most people try to replace the same items stolen and the bad guys know this.

BTW you do know that this was an inside job. Someone close to you told them what you had.

Sorry for your lose!

Next time, you might not be so lucky.

When you move, you might want to keep your medical and healthcare issues private, you know, so you don't get robbed again.
Man, that's cruel!

I am very sorry this happened to you. It will take a lot of effort to get your life back in order but it can be done, one step at a time. You will never really know for sure how the people who robbed you got so much information.

For a long time I have thought one of the primary ways this kind of stuff gets out is social media, like FB. My SO is a musician and everyone uses FB to advertise gigs. It scares me that too many people know when he will be playing and therefore not home.

What an unfortunate experience but it does not surprise me. Just about every state has recently passed very strict laws about prescription narcotics, so users/abusers no longer have as easy an access to obtain these meds so they will prey on those who obtain them legally and they have very savy methods in finding out who has prescription narcotics. It has become almost a daily occurrence at work where a patient presents saying their narcotics were stolen from their home or were mugged on the street by some thug and robbed of their medications.

Thankfully you and your family survived and were not physically harmed during this horrific ordeal. But expect emotional scars to linger. About 18 years ago an armed drug addict broke into the two homes directly across the street in from me in broad daylight to steal whatever he could to sell to buy drugs. Fortunately no one was home which was surprising since both families had little kids at the time with SAHMs. After hearing of what happened to my neighbors I could not get on the phone fast enough to call a friend who owns an alarm installation company and within a week mine was installed. To this day I still get a little freaked out when I see a slow driving service type vehicles, as this thug was driving a utility van with some fake carpet cleaning company logo on the side. And he had the &%**@ to park right in my neighbor's driveways. BTW, I live in a very low crime area and these types of crimes can happen anywhere.

Again, this is very unfortunate you and your family had to experience this

I'm sorry about your experience. Since they asked about specific things in addition to the meds, it sounds unfortunately (as Garthur said) like someone you know who has been in your house and knows what you have has talked about you to some very unsavory people. Or (more likely scenario) something like this happened: your friends John and Jane have a crackhead son and he overheard them discussing their visit with you, and decides he'll pay you a visit with some friends. It's telling they had to ask where certain things were, which suggests they're using information from someone else.
