Because they are not like you. There are many intelligent, well informed, educated folks on this forum who are not financially secure. In most cases, not their fault that their financial lives didn't turn out as planned.

the thing i don't get is why some of those types go in to financial discussion threads that do not apply to them only to comment about how they don't apply to them and usually add " it does not apply to most people . "
it is like lets forget about the people who it does apply to ," most " of us find this post useless .

Don't know, but I'm sure I'll get roasted for this response. Don't care.
Do I feel financially secure? I guess I should but I don't. If I had a crystal ball and could see that I'm going to be disabled or housebound at 67, for example, I could make plans. I would stop working NOW (I'm 64).
The lift in the economy -- see how carefully I worded that? -- has not really benefitted me yet. This year's sales have been no better than last year's.
