It is election season and some of are using our free time to volunteer in election campaigns at the state,
Oval or national level.
Want to share? No need to say who.
But if you want to say yes or no and if yes at what level.
I am at the federal level and seeing the young and retirees working as paid staff and volunteers.
We as retirees are a good source for recruiting. Are we being used
Please no politics this is about retirees being active in the process.
I was asked to participate with the party I am affiliated with but have passed on the opportunity. I find much of the interaction in today's environment difficult and stressful. I will continue to contribute funds.
I decide not to contribute a dime to anybody, that way I’m not in their database for future use ever. I have never contributed. I shall keep it that way.
I do not, but a couple of my senior friends and a sibling work the election.
They do get paid for the training and the day of, so its worth it. No free rides here!!
Working at a precinct election designated polling place (where one votes) on election day or preceding days to the election is very different from volunteering in political campaigns for various candidates.

I don't volunteer for political stuff but I do volunteer with our local government (parks and rec city events)
My next volunteer gig coming up is our local St Paddy's Day parade/festival.
Nope, I don't volunteer. However, whenever I go to vote, the election staff is always retirees.
I did make contributions for CIC in 2000 and 2008 but refuse to do so again. After those contributions, I got too many emails soliciting more funds. I will keep my money.

Same here. I don't know how we could hold elections without retirees. Here in Texas, where there's a long early-voting period, it's a big commitment - looks like 10 hours a day for 12 days.
