Perhaps a political angle to it, given mid-term elections. It may benefit an incumbent running for re-election regardless of party, as senior citizen voters are likely to be content with a lower Part B cost and a big COLA SS increase.

They just announced on CNBC, that Biogen has an Alzheimer’s drug that had good results in the trials. That’s good news, but part B will be higher in 2024.
