We let the management of complex know - they wanted to make sure company was licensed - technician installed it in about 1 hour - he did a demonstration. It works well - folds up - it doesn't take up a lot of space. Cost about $3000 - well worth it!
Brand is Handicare.

My SIL had one installed in your townhouse.

She could walk the stairs, albeit slowly, but she found it most useful for transporting items up or down. Mostly laundry and trash.

She didn't want to walk up or down the stairs with her hands full. She always held the banister.

My age restricted apartment came with a stair lift for anyone who lives on the second floor. Good thing because the ceilings are high, making for A LOT of stairs if you live on the second floor.

I used to pooh pooh the idea of the stair lift and would run up and down the stairs multiple times per day. Run down to the garden, back up to get some fertilizer for the garden, back up to get a glass of iced coffee, back down to sit on my front patio, up to get the dog for a walk, back down again, etc.

Now I use the stair lift almost all the time and it's wonderful for getting groceries up the stairs and for taking out the trash. I walk up and down only ONE time a day, just for the exercise. My only complaint about the stair lift is that it's so slow! Wish it had different speeds.

In New England, your comment about speed made me laugh, my housemate wishes we had an extra wide staircase so we could install one on each side and have races.
