Again, the trucking company has absolutely nothing to do with Medicare so why bring it up? It is over 3/4 of your post but is not relevant to the topic. And I expect it was more about saving jobs than "corporate welfare". Also, where did I say anything like you claim - I really don't care about where you get your healthcare - only saying it is not really free - it is subsidized by others - many that can easily pay for health care also can qualify since it is not about assets.
Everyone does have affordable health care available - but if the care is heavily subsidized, that care should be the payers choice (government), not the beneficiary. Much like the trucking company you mentioned, benefits should not be subsidized in a vacuum with no thought to the cost / benefit for taxpayers.
Does that include taxpayer subsidized health care plans for government workers, police, firemen? It is after all, subsidized by others.

Subsidized by taxpayers is different than those earned by working a job with benefits - it is part of their earned benefits that was part of taking the job. Many union guys and some at private companies have the same type of benefits - that is not assistance.
Did your job have retired medical benefits outside of Medicare that pays now? Assistance is with taxpayers paying for at least part of the benefit that was not earned - that is the reality.
I recently filled out a form for physical therapy after a fall on private property.
I haven't/hadn't planned to sue, but got the impression Medicare wants me to sue so they can get reimbursed for my care.
Has anyone heard of this happening?

Yeah, I think you're right.
If another party could be held liable for your injuries and resulting treatment, it's something that may end up coming out or their hide, or their liability insurance. In that case, Medicare would need to be reimbursed for their costs, if you end up receiving compensation from another party, and Medicare wants to make sure you know that. Can't just pocket that money for yourself.
