The state House voted in favor of gay marriage earlier this year; it’s now before the Senate Judiciary Committee and could see a vote in the full Senate by the end of the week. The regional chapter of the National Organization for Marriage has threatened to unseat Senate Minority Leader Dennis L. Algiere (R) over the vote.
Is Rhode Island, often considered the most liberal state in the nation, ready to join the civilized rest of New England and make gay equality a reality? Or will the Haters prevail?

Let's hope so; Rhode Island is way behind the rest of New England in terms of marriage equality.

I think it's wonderful that these state senators have preceded their balls-to-the-wall attack on gun owners with an extension of civil rights to an apparently more favorable minority population--extending marriage rights really is the least those cretins can do in the meantime.

Make a note of the ones who just caused the bill to fail in order to vote them out of office.

PS Paiva-Weed needs to GO ASAP>

Wait a second, was it the bill they voted against or the referendum? I am in favor of voting against the referendum.

Governments all over the world are embracing the idea of same sex marriage. Governments all over the world are becoming more and more corrupt...it only makes sense that the corruption of marriage is now normal...corruption is the norm.
