SO I am sure there are forums of this in here, and will slowly make my way through them to read up on as much as I can, but I thought I would try this route first.
I am a 30 yr old single guy moving to Providence area for my job that is engineering alot of the solar jobs in mass., I figured Providence would be the best area for me to live to enjoy what life I can. I am very active in sports, running, gym, going out, and just meeting people in activities in general. I am just wondering first what the city has to offer and if it is a good place for me. And second, if it is what are some nice areas that I can be relatively close to the action as well as being able to get on the highway to Mass. very easy as well. I could pretty much live in anything, but I do have two vehicles so that may be a lil sticking point with some places as well.
Really, just getting my bang for the buck, while still being able to enjoy what Providence has to offer, and not being in an unsafe area
I think Providence is one of the better and one of the most "up and coming" medium to small cities in the US.
Do you like walkable districts and relatively small neighborhoods? If so, you'd be happy here. If you want a city of a million- then you might be better off in Boston with its hoards of young adults.
As you say, Providence has been much discussed in this forum including where to live for singles, so you really should read those threads first and then ask specific questions.
If I were you, I would move to the east side of Providence. Near Brown and RISD. IMO, it's the nicest part of the city and has the most educated young people.
