In the 1990s, I spent many hours cleaning up that Grace Church Cemetery. Straightening stones. I lived 5 minutes away. While there wasn't much right wing social media then, there was similiar fear mongering. And, my guess is the crime rate was probably higher than now. Never had so much as an incident, much less a crime. Your "heebie-jeebies may not have been justified.
It’s great that you did the cleanup way back then. It needs way more than stone straightening now because it looks like a trash dump and was in the worst shape by far of any of the cemeteries I have visited there.
I did leave it better than I found it, to the extent I had room in my pockets and hands for trash.

"Victim shot in head, vehicle shot into, 3 people stabbed, Victim struck in head with blunt object, Victim repeatedly rammed while driving in their vehicle, a RISD student threatened with a firearm that was pointed at him, and a victim being threatened with a knife," wrote the union.
"A hit and run fatality involving a JWU student who was walking on Narragansett Blvd where he was struck by a vehicle. The male student later succumbed to his injuries," they added.
The article mentions 3 stabbings. I'm only aware of the Dexter Field (Armory) stabbing. Anyone know anything about the other 2 stabbings?
There are so far 3 felony assaults logged for Monday:
1251 N Main St. (which is likely the shooting already mentioned)
325 Washington St. (that is the court house)
and Thomas St./Benefit St./Prospect St....not sure what is meant by that??? Was it a moving incident? Those three streets do not cross.
I'm sure more will be added tomorrow or later, as 4/5 of those shootings have yet to be logged.
Carlos Garcia, 34 of Hudson St. in the Armory District was arrested today for Felony Assault, Possession of Schedule I II III, and Controlled Substance Conspiracy. I wonder if he was involved in one of the several recent stabbings plaguing the Armory District of Providence, RI.

Reason: Corrected age on suspect.
And now there was a shooting in Pawtucket around Lonsdale Ave. (looks like the RR bridge between 95 and Mineral Spring Ave.). Who knows if that's related to any of these? Looks like this guy is gonna make it though...
"PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Pawtucket police are investigating a deadly hit and run that happened Friday night. Around 9:30 p.m., police and fire crews along with the Rhode Island State Police were called to the intersection of Lonsdale Avenue at Harrison Street for a reported hit and run involving a motorcycle and another vehicle. The 27-year-old operator of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators believe the vehicle that took off from the scene is a dark colored 2006-2008 Nissan Maxima and should have extensive damage to the drive side."
Officers around 4 a.m. found at least two bullets on the ground and damage to a car on Deborah Street, where they had gone earlier in the night to disperse people causing a disturbance.
Witnesses told detectives that the shooter, who they didn’t know, had come to the party, gotten into an argument, and left, according to a police report.
He returned in his car and fired around four shots at three people and a car.
