There is no "Chad Brown neighborhood," but Camden Avenue does intersect Chad Brown Street. I'm not sure if the report was wrong or if that was just B-roll, but the video is Candace Street at Chalkstone Avenue.
Chad Brown Street runs from Admiral Street to Pinehurst Ave.
The area between Admiral Street and Douglas Ave -- where the Chad Brown projects are and the nearby streets -- is considered the Chad Brown neighborhood even though it's Wanskuck (and Smith Hill on the eastern side, I believe).
There also isn't a PC neighborhood, but it's widely understood that part of Elmhurst is considered to be the PC area or PC neighborhood.
And that "vast majority" of crime is still "crumbs" compared to crime in other parts of the U.S., and is still of very little threat to random people. You make it sound like every "colorful" character on Street View is waiting to murder the next random potential victim, when the reality is even "bad" areas in RI are among the safest in the nation.
Just STOP. Please. The problematic areas of Providence, Pawtucket, CF; are NOT among the safest in the nation. While they are certainly not Baltimore, Detroit or Oakland; their violent crime rate is SIGNIFICANTLY higher then the national average and one is FAR more likely to be a victim in one of those areas than most places in the Unites States. Spreading this false, misleading information does an extreme disservice to the forum and anybody relying on it for guidance re. personal safety within Rhode Island. It's reckless and irresponsible.
Just curious how you can tell it’s stolen from Street View? Is it something on the bike itself?
Um, don't you need a credit card? That kid is probably 14.
