My husband has been offered a teaching contract in both counties. He is flying out in 2 weeks to view the schools and meet with principals. I know living here in Arizona as educators we have the insight as to what districts are great to work in and ones that are not. Out of these two counties which do you think is better?

Both, overall, are very good school districts.

I don't know if you've already made your decision, but I would say 100% Henrico. I used to teach there.

Default Depends

Totally depends on which districts he is going to be teaching in.. PLEASE be careful as some areas of Henrico arent desirable thus making some of the schools pretty sketchy. If he goes with Henrico he should stay in the Western part of the county. I dont know too much about chesterfield though..

His interviews went well and he has been offered an early contract in both counties. He has to decide by next Friday if he is going to except either one of them. It is a hard decision because if nothing else is available except for one of the tougher schools then he may have to go to that school. He has his application in to a few private schools right now as well. I think he is leaning toward Henrico. Has anyone heard of the Steward School? He has an interview there.

No. And as far as the teacher's perspective goes, it shouldn't really matter whether a school is "sketchy" or not.

I dissagree you should always be concerned about your personal saftey & that saftey could be an issue in some schools trust me I KNOW! I attended Henrico Co. schools

Hello. I am also looking into a job opportunity in Henrico County Schools. I have been told to look at Twin Hickory or Crestview Elementary schools. Byrd Middle and Glen Allen HS. So the position could be at any of those. Does anyone have any input on these particular schools or the areas in Henrico County in general? I don't know much about the area, and I'm trying to judge if it's worth the move from a position that I like. Is it safe and how do people perceive the schools?
