Hello,

We are thinking of moving to the Richmond area and would like some recommendations of where to live. No school age children.

Thanks

You will need to provide more info if you want info. Buy, rent? Willing to spend how much? Want land or no? Close to anything in particular? And so on.

If you have no school aged children I'd say in the city is a no-brainer

We recently heard about a new 55 plus community called the Townes at Notting Place. Does anyone have insight into the North Chesterfield area?
Elkhardt Rd and Pocoshock Blvd
7708 Pocoshock Forest Drive

Is this a settled area or an area with new construction? Close to shopping?

Not the best school area - older area with new construction. But convenient to most of Richmond (a little far to major shopping of west end - 30 minutes ...but less than 20 minutes to downtown)

Thanks. I think since this would be for retirement we might want to be further from the city. We also saw some homes in New Kent but there doesn't seem to be availability to shopping or amenities. Maybe we need to look a little more west.

What are you looking for in the area you want to live - so many different areas in Richmond. If you gave us some idea of what would be your perfect area or home we can give you advice.

We are primarily looking for a safe area with decent medical facilities and shopping. I guess one of the things we have seen throughout the mid Atlantic area are some +55 communities that seem to be built on "any patch of land". Hopefully I am explaining this correctly

We like the home styles of the Notting Hill community and were trying to find out if it's going to be an actual development. We just emailed to builder so we'll see if we can learn a little more. We are also going to try to learn more about the builder by reading some reviews. Normally, we would plan a trip to visit but not at this time. We do like the Richmond/Williamsburg area!
