Hey Everybody!
My fiancee and I are getting relocated to Roanoke from Greenville NC for his job. He is in Roanoke now staying in a hotel for the past month, we are trying to find somewhere to live, but we're not impressed with the options. We are looking to rent an apartment for now, perferbly in SW Roanoke. Judging by reading thats the best part of town i guess. We checked out Sunscape they are nice but on the high end, and have nothing available till sept! The other apartment places really didn't look appealing from the street, they all look really old and run down. Am I missing something here? We're should we look? We need to do something fast!!!!

Do more than a drive-by, take tours and talk to people. That's the only way you can find what works for you. Also, some of those apartment complexes will let you sign a 6-month lease instead of a longer one, which will give you time to settle in and get to know your options before you commit to something long-term. Good luck.

Are you completely against renting a house? I will admit that it is tough finding a good rental home in Roanoke, but they are out there. We just moved to Roanoke a week ago and we found our house last minute. Do you have a price range? Have kids?
