If you read between the lines, you'd know that that "Buffalo Billion" is hogwash. Only $100M or so has been earmarked, the rest is supposed to go to that Elon Musk or whatever project on the Buffalo River (which most likely won't amount to anything).
Most of the billion or so invested in Buffalo in recent years is from private investors, like Paladino.
I thought I read about 500 million of it has been spent already. Could be wrong.

No reason to read between the lines when you can actually read the lines in the Buffalo publications. Elon Musk and Buffalo is getting a $750 million gift from taxpayers. Geez, there are already at least 2 solar companies operating in Eastman Business Park.

The truth is, Buffalo has been getting tons more money than anywhere else upstate for years. The big project downtown, Canalside, is financed by the NYPA which got the money through raising everyones electric bills. A lot of what they get is simply wasteful, like the medical center downtown. Most of the new building is simply for existing organizations to leave their existing buildings and move there from a few blocks away. ( Womens and Childrens Hospital, UB medical school, ECC building). Yeah, a few short term construction jobs are created, but an empty building is left behind.
For those that don't know, Solyndra was a solar company that Obama gave $535 million to, only to see all of the money go "poof". I believe that was a large campaign donor also.
It seems the governor could better serve the state if he could just get business to relocate into the state, these big grandiose programs seems to always be more hype & advertising than real results where they are needed.
What else should anyone there expect from liberal, statist hacks like Cuomo?
