Rochester Public Market (neighborhood, to live, area)

Is the general area around the Public Market safe? Is it worth going? In light of recent events in the City, I'm a little apprehensive about trying new places especially those outside of the Inner Loop.

If you are going in the middle of the day on a weekend (which I would expect would really be the only time most people would go to the public market) you probably don't have too much to worry about. But it is true the neighborhood around the public market is pretty sketchy. Not someplace you'd want to live or frequent every day...but not much to be concerned about when just going to the public market on a nice weekend afternoon.

Seeing as the recent events didn't happen around the public market, you'd be fine.
