Must either be a busy hwy or have few places to pass.
Not much of anything is a busy highway where they live, as for no places to pass, it you knew rural Maine drivers then you would also know they have a thing for NOT passing no matter how long the stretch of road. They also don't usually get bent out of shape at being being a tractor on the road, and will just poke along behind it without a thought of getting around anytime soon.
It drove me insane while I lived there for 20 years to come up on a line of 15 vehicles behind a Combine or tractor and nobody passing. Not passing, but also not giving enough room that if somebody DID want to get around they could pass a couple of cars, and pull in if needed. It was pass them all in one shot, or get in line.
I agree...pretty different sitting in a truck rather then in a car.
It's the same with a tractor. I don't pull over for cars...I got just as much right to use that highway as they do so when they feel it is safe to go around me, they can. I'm not pulling over for anyone. I just keep plugging along and if a line of cars back up behind me, so be it. Sooner or later I'll turn off into a field or they will find a safe place to pass.
I do stop and pick up the mailboxes I clip off. With some of our equipment approaching 17 feet wide fully folded up, its getting harder to avoid oncoming cars and mailboxes
------" it's getting harder to avoid oncoming cars and mailboxes " ------"I got just as much right to use that highway as they do "--
what about the --rights-- of oncoming cars and mailbox owners ?
Bascially just call your atate senator or representaive;then those that block teh roadway will be tickets and the ones compalining. that is how governamt works.
I drive a a big heavy truck also, and we're aloud to block a lain of traffic all we want.
We can't pull off into the grass because we run the chance of some liberal spazz going off because we ruined their yard. AND we can't pull in driveways because if we crack the pavement, $$$$$$ cost for the company.
I've put my blinkers on and stopped to the horns of many and all they've got was a middle finger from me. Hahaha...

Your city laws don't mean crap around here.
You are not above getting a good head thumping for your arrogance around here for blocking traffic in a dangerous spot and then laughing at someone...you should come try it sometime
