Seriously next time I hear people ***** and complain about how Sacramento is 110 degrees everyday in the summer I'm going to kick them in the nuts for just being so stupid.

The "hot" summers of Sacramento is probably the most exaggerated things people ***** about.

and I totally agree with you. The 2 summers we spent there, (many years ago) had a couple of heat waves, one that did see temps up to and above 100 degrees with warm miserable nights. But other than that, the cool nights made it a great place to live..

Here in AR right now we are going through one of the worst heat waves in years. Our nights are around 75 for the low and the highs over 100 plus the heat index. The same for the east coast, Florida, and Texas.

Yep, if this is "global warming" I love it. It still feels like spring for the most part. This has been the best summer since I have been out here.

It usually does get hot out here especially if you are used to coastal type weather. I remember a couple years ago when it was extremely hot during a long heat wave. I think it was 2006 and the heat wave lasted 2 weeks or so reaching 110-115* a few times.

Spent a good 4 days there this past weekend and experienced low 90's. Pretty warm, but not uncomfortable, unless you're sitting in traffic with no A/C, which my bro-in-law was. LOL

I just moved to Rocklin from Atlanta. It's hot, but not that hot. I just love being out of the humidity.

This weather here in the Valley is magic. I have hardly turned the AC on. My PGE bill was $22 for July.

And I LIKE it when it's 92 degrees, because when I'm out walking my dog at 8 pm, it's a nice 85 degrees out. Perfection.

100s here are totally tolerable - I never had a problem. I lived in Midtown in 2002/2003 (can't remember which date) and it was 115! Still - it was a nice 85 in the house.

Just because this summer has been relatively mild with only a couple of days over 100 so far, it does not mean that Sacramento summers are pleasant, healthy and inviting. If you think Sac summers are comfortable then you must be a masochist or in a serious state of denial.
But yes, I'll take a summer like this over the smoggy and heat drenched days we usually have.

"Somewhat tolerable summer"??? Are you crazy! I have lived in the Northeast, spent a lot of time in the South, and enough weekends in Fresno to say, without a doubt, that this summer weather has been PERFECT! Just hot enough to swim, with seriously cool mornings for gardening - what could be better??

Yes, I know, this is not a typical summer. But I think the people who think Sacramento has the "worst weather ever" are either from the Bay Area, or simply have never lived anywhere with truly awful weather.

BTW, the Bay Area weather BITES. I was at an Oakland A's game in July freezing my arse off - how is that good weather people!!

It all depends on your previous experiences and your preferences. For those of you who love the heat, it's great here, and I'm glad you are happy where you live. As for me, I spent the last seven years on an island in Puget Sound, and found the summers there to be almost perfect - every day was between 70-80 degrees, and being so far north, there was more sunlight each day than there is here. The rest of the year, however - let's just say that I was not a big fan. Thus the return to CA. But I was born and raised in the Bay Area and spent most of my life in Santa Cruz; and to me, that is the perfect climate. I have been in the Sacramento area for two months now, and while I appreciate that it has been cooler than normal, I still find the temperatures and the stagnant air to be very unpleasant. I would rather spend the majority of my life in the great outdoors, but it is too hot here to exercise, at least for me. I am used to walking, hiking and riding my bike daily in the summer, but it is not possible here, especially since I have to get up very early for work and don't have time in the morning. When I do have time is in the mid-to-late afternoon, but that is when it is so hot here. So I will probably move back to the coast or back north at some point in the next couple of years. Until then, I'll just grin and bear it.
