That was my point, however clumsily stated or misinterpreted. There are still clear, ethnic divides no matter how others may wish to present things. Of course, that is unless things have changed drastically in the past two years.

I wish there was a way we can pass a citywide legalization of marijuana just for the city of Sacramento, or just for the central city of Sacramento including the neighborhoods of downtown, midtown, alkali flats, oak park, etc.

I think it would immediately bring in a lot of investment and tourism dollars to Sacramento. Put Sacramento on the map as a destination and also bring a very international crowd into town. We would become the Amsterdam of California.

What do you guys think?
Sounds selfish to me. Make changes on the state level for more support.

The idea that marijuana is a benign drug is vastly overstated. It decreases cognitive ability (short term, at least) while giving the user a false perception of the opposite effect. We don't need more people running around in that state of mind, or driving cars, in addition to the alchohol problem.

Also, with the recent increase in hair-sample drug testing (which can trace several months of use), it would create more even people incapable of getting hired.

Sacramento is already too full of thugs & drugs, and this would just invite more chaos. Ask anyone who's lived next to chronic smokers if it's a pleasant experience. They tend to be criminals in other regards, and legalizing one substance wouldn't change that.
Marijauana causes people to commit crime? Like what, overeating? What "chaos" would insue?

do you realize that all of these things happen BECAUSE marijuana is illegal? The same **** (and much worse btw) happened during prohibition when alcohol was outlawed too. When's the last time you heard of a home getting ransacked and the owners getting shot by people looking for booze? You can buy it anywhere so you don't need to steal from people or buy/sell it on the black market.

If weed was legal none of this **** would be a problem. And these problems don't happen because weed is bad, it's only because it's illegal! These aren't crazed pot addicts that are robbing stashes to get a fix. They are attacking growers to make money. If people didn't have to grow it in secret this would never happen.

But it is and it does. Therefore the supposition that it can lead to crime is quite correct. The rest doesn't matter and won't unless and until the laws change.

Dude, do you even live in California? It's legal to grow & posses if you have the card and those are the folks being targeted by the lowlife thug community.

If, (big IF) MJ was to be legalized statewide, it would be a free for all for the thugs.
They're not going to pay or take the time to grow weed, they are going to take it regardless.
Not to mention the state is preparing to release a whole herd of lowlifes....

Eff the whole MJ movement, there are bigger problems on the horizon and a clear head will be your best weapon- it also wouldn't hurt to Lock & Load and be prepared.

Kinda like saying murder happens because it's illegal! If it wasn't illegal it'd jist be a killin'.
