If you are so worried about no ID being required to vote, then where is your outrage over voting by absentee ballot? They are much more vulnerable to fraud than in person voting. When you fraudulently vote in person you are taking a huge risk of being recognized by the staff at the polling place (which is nearly always in your neighborhood) or by signing up for a ballot only to find out the person whose name you just gave already voted. Since it's a felony it's a little hard to figure what would motivate a person to take such a chance since a single vote rarely if ever influences the outcome of an election, but fraud by absentee ballot isn't rare at all but the states requiring a photo ID for in person voting don't seem concerned about that source of fraud, I wonder why that is

I don't think they should be necessary, but I don't have any problem with requiring a photo ID if it will make people happy. But the requirements for obtaining one should be uniform in every state, the ID should be free and easy to get and there should be a reasonable means of obtaining an ID for people who can't obtain their birth certificate or people whose name was changed due to marriage or divorce and they can't obtain the legal document proving that, perhaps through sworn affidavits.

yes, of course, even voter fraud that doesn't exist.

"A study of 2,068 alleged election-fraud cases in 50 states between 2000 and 2012 found the level of fraud was infinitesimal compared with the 146 million voters registered over the 12-year period. The analysis found only 10 cases of voter impersonation, the only kind of fraud that could be prevented by voter ID at the polls."

IMO, this is just sickening. I don't care how old or indigent you are. You have an obligation to prove who you say you are!
OMG you guys won the election already!

And found when I googled them:

VPC has received funding from the Bauman Foundation and the Democracy Alliance, a network of liberal donors who pool their giving to political causes.

VPC’s affiliation with several high-level Hillary Clinton allies, including John Podesta and Maggie Williams.

In 2012, it was reported that the organization had sent out a number of voter registration forms to non-citizens, deceased people and pets as part of a campaign to increase voter participation among groups it says are underrepresented, including unmarried women, blacks, Latinos and young adults.

Officials in at least one state said they feared that ineligible persons could be added to the voter rolls as a result.

But were they? Are there any demonstrable cases of voter fraud as a result? Or just fear?
