Hi
I've been looking online to see if Ic ould find property tax rates for Placerville. Does anyone know what the rate is? How is it compared to the rest of the area?

Property taxes throughout CA are 1% of the assessed values plus any locally voted taxes. Throughout each county there are probably 20 different tax rate areas, but they don't vary too much.

Actually, PLACERVILLE is in EL DORADO COUNTY, not Placer County! So that link won't help, but thanks for trying

I live in the Pleasant Valley area, 7 miles outside Placerville. Here is an example of a house with a gross value of $423,170 minus the $7000 homeowners exemption:

Prop 13: General tax levy 1.0% $4161.72
Gold Oak school: election 2008 0.0210% 87.39
El Dorado Union High school: election 1997 0.0052% 21.64
EDUHS bond: election 2008 0.0162% 67.41
Los Rios college bond: 2002 0.0124% 51.60
Total general tax: $4389.76

207 EID G/O land only 8.96
552 CSA#10 Solid waste 17.00
553 CSA#10 Liquid waste 15.00
622 CSA#10 HSE Hazard waste 3.00
683 Pleasant Valley Fire 42.00
685 CSA#7 Ambulance, West Slope 25.00
Total tax and direct charges: $4500.72
