We are non-LDS and not only did we move to Utah last summer, we moved to GASP Utah county lol I have 2 girls age 10 and 13yo and they love it here. If there are any parents who don't want their kids playing with them, I wouldn't even know it because they do have plenty of friends. Reading some people's posts was somewhat scary last summer but I have no regret with our decision to come here. Good luck with your move!

WAIT A MINUTE!! You moved to UTAH County and you are non LDS? AND...AND... Your children have friends? You aren't shunned? You *LOVE* it there??

That's it. The Apocalypse is near. I have heard it all now.

Glad that things have worked out well for you!!

We moved from CA a year ago and aren't LDS. While we live in Draper, we work in Utah County and our son (4 years old) goes to school in Utah County near our office. This past year has been one filled with everyone trying to fool us. They have all been very nice and polite and helpful. The Bishop in my ward even invited me over to his house for Thanksgiving since I was alone. In fact, he and his family were over this weekend swimming in our pool also. All the waving while we are out walking the dogs is another tactic that is used frequently. I know that all this outward acceptance and friendliness is just a ruse to get us to let our guard down. All the employees at Harmons, for example, personally take us to where what we are looking for is, rather than point and say "i'm not sure, check that way". They locals here are being very calculated and deliberate with their lulling us into thinking that we are going to be accepted even though we aren't LDS. In fact, they have even planted people at our son's school who claim to not be LDS and say they, too, have had no problems and love it here.

I just KNOW that we are going to be shunned one of these days.

Katz, don't forget about us Heathens over in East Millcreek when recommending a neighborhood!
I think that many years ago, some of what the OP has heard "may" have had a kernal of truth to it. We moved to Utah in 93 and heard some of those "things" too.
I do not miss Park City and am really content here in the Valley, don't go to church of any kind-except when I ski on Sundays at the "chapel of powder and sun"..
Welcome Ashburt!

Ashburt, maybe the previous poster should have put a smilie after the post(RedDot). I read it as a funny commentary on how nice everone is.
