I would like to live in the SLC Metro Area. I don't mind being way out in the suburbs. I would like to find a 1 bed apt for $650 that allows 2 dogs in a safe area. I have plenty of money for extra pet deposits. I realize I won't be getting an apt with major updates or that is really new, and I am okay with that. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

In my experience $500s = unsafe, $600s = very iffy, $700s = generally decent, $800s = very nice. You can check rentometer for average rents in a city or near an address you're interested in, or you might consider renting a basement apartment (check ksl.com) in that pricerange.

I think "Metro Area" might mean different things in different cities. By "metro area" I meant anything within 45 min of downtown not during rush hour. Rentometer.com is great! I am finding that $650 for a 1 bedroom in places like Layton and Ogden is high. I knew for downtown and close to downtown SLC, it would be low.

Any suggestions on towns such as Layton and Ogden to look at for apartments?
