Which, btw, makes me often wonder why some of the news from other countries is not reported in USA media at all ...
For instance, the *problems* with all the refugees in Europe, when you read European news in the local language, than it is way worse than what the USA media reports !

I think the same would be, that Europeans do not know what is really happening in the USA ...

It has long been my observation that the reverse is far more often the case. The Euros are, by nature and history, internationalists. The vast majority of Americans.... not so much.

Incidentally, the OP was my wife. We have had the digital NYT subscription for years. But, as Katz points out, there's no substitute for the real, hold-in-your-hands Sunday times. :-)

That may well be ...

I still have many family members come to the USA on vacation and very often, they are surprised about things that happen here.

I can not compare large groups of people ...
