I don't know much about the schools in salt lake, but these schools have very good reputation:

Private
Judge Memorial Catholic High School
Welcome to Rowland Hall-St. Mark's School-a private, independent school for preschool through grade 12 in Salt Lake City, Utah
The Waterford School
Juan Diego Catholic High School
Skaggs Catholic Center | Draper Utah

Public
West High School
Skyline High School
These schools have IB program in addition to AP

Utah public schools are notoriously known for very low funding, in fact, they are ranked #51 of 52 states, and they also have the highest student-Teacher ratio. So you might want to do a private school for your youngest and try to get the older ones into the IB program schools.

Good luck

How close do you need to be to Salt Lake City?

I've heard the Granite School District (public school) is one of the best. I think it covers Holladay which is within 10 minutes of downtown.

Davis School District which is just north of SLC is also known for having great schools. If you don't want to do private schools, there are a couple of great charter schools in the area too.
