My husband and I are looking to purchase a new home and we have narrowed it down to two communities: Trophy Ridge and Laurel Mountain Ranch.

In order of preference:
1. Trophy Ridge (we love the community) - we would build with Sivage
2. Laurel Mountain - we would build with DR Horton

Any feedback on the builders and/or communities would be great!

Thanks!

We live in LMR. Sivage is building homes in this neighborhood too. We really like the neigborhood, but send me a message if you have specific questions.
Trophy ridge will be Foerster elem and Vale, LMR will be Ott/Luna I believe.........

not to butt into this conversation...but does LMR have a website or anything where I can read more about this community?

MamatoTex97...do you know if Ott is one of the elementary schools that gets capped early? We won't arrive in TX until early Aug at best, and I'm nervous about registering my 5 yr old for kindergarten so late

TriStone Homes - Laurel Mountain Ranch SIVAGE home

I do not have a website for LMR specifically but above are two of the builders here and it at the very least has some photos of the neighborhood/pool.
I couldn't say about how early it is capped. I know a few years ago my son was slotted for Ott and it was capped so he went to Galm. We loved Galm though he only went there for one year before heading to middle school. Either way they provide bus transportation if you have the need.
Hope that helps somewhat.

Default Lmr

The only thing I didn't really like about LMR is the lack of trees and the eyesore caused by those electrical towers. I'm still not convinced.

Mamototex97 - did you build from the ground up?

You might also look at Redbird Ranch (DR Horton) down Potranco Road (outside of Loop 1604). You're also close to SH211 that will take you to Hwy 90 and then into San Antonio or whatever. Traffic can be bad heading east as you get near Walmart going to Loop 1604. However, there is talk about widening Potranco.

I believe LMR feeds to Belau elementary now. A brand new school opening in the fall, right?

Mari, no there was an original owner here first so we did not build. I hear what you are saying about trees/power lines. But for the pricepoint in a new neighborhood that's pretty much what you will find. Now for this price in an older area, yeah you'd get trees. But powerlines could still be a factor. Honestly I don't notice them unless someone mentions it.
