The Alamodome costs the city over $1 million a year to maintain, whether it is used once a year or 300x a year. There's no way that a handful of graduations, a sprinkling of conventions, a boat show, a monster truck show and a home show can cover that cost. UTSA football will help, but that's just 5 or 6 games a year. Like you, I'm in favor of the city going after any tenant that will pay bigger bucks to use the Dome.

Why does everybody have a problem with partnering with a school district.
As far as I know, every district is pretty much financially independent and they can resort to whatever legal methods they want to raise money.

Just like any other partnership, it could be success or a bust for that school district. Whichever way it is, that's their problem. They are the ones that are deciding how to raise money for their district.
