Mamasitias on I10 on the NW side is good food, Perichos on Bandera is also good. They have the house dip not on the menu which is my fav thing over there. Loads of other good places around but those are amy current favs.

I love mexican food too and I bet SA has better mexican restuarants than the ones around my neck of the woods.

The famed Casa Rio most definatly. It is on the riverwalk and not only a local favorite but a tradition for families to eat at over the years who come to SA, this includes my family. The food too comes from family recipes and are excellent. http://www.casa-rio.com/index2.htm

Jacala (or Jakala). Located on West Avenue. Try the cheese enchiladas with puffy tacos plate. Inexpensive.

If you like fajitas I recommend Papasitos.

Mi Tierra. Great food and ambience. Live Mariachis. Located in scenic Marketplace downtown.

The Manhattan (or Mexican Manhattan). Located downtown.

For inexpensive cafe dining or fast food takeout: Las Palapas.

Los Patios, located in a scenic park-like area by a stream.

El Jarro de Arturo. Northside.
