Interesting article posted above, people in otherwise 'moral' positions acting 'unethically'.

Default Detroit and San Antonio,

San Antonio is said to have around plus or minus 2 million pop. right?
Detroit is 900,00. Metro is 4,296,000 with all the suburbs if you have also lived there, you know this. The rampant corruption is, mostly within the city, about that you are right. Unbelievable ie, pounds of cocaine stolen from an evidence room at the courthouse etc. However S.A. held up in contrast ....
San Antonio is a picnic in paradise in comparison.

I'm from that area, so I'm pretty sure I know what I'm talking about there. It is a unique city with some serious corruption, but still nothing like what you see here and the corruption tends to be further up the chain. Many of the cops are basically just trying to make it to the next day alive and dealing with serious budget cuts. Absolutely nothing like San Antonio from the ground up.

BTW, this thread is about trusting SAPD, not comparing it to a dissimilar city.

I was just eatting at the Blanco Cafe downtown in the last hour....2 SA bike cops in their uniforms but on their personal motorcycles...drive on the sidewalk, and park their bikes in the middle of the sidewalk....just to go in and eat.

Basically anything on the sidewalk downtown is considered obstructing the pedistrian Right-of-Way. It wasnt a big deal, but the arrogance of these morons is beyond me. So does SAPD think they are above the law...yes, anyone else would have been ticketed and towed. And these "Grown men" should know that when you are in uniform, you represent the entire force. .....yet anothe example of why people dont trust them.

Dash cams & GPS are the only reason cops are finally getting DWIs, until about 10 years ago..they would always let their own off as "professional courtsey".

This thread Still isn't about Detroit, but just for S's and G's...

yes I'm from that area and already stated that fact. Anyone from that area knows that Detroit is something unto itself. You cannot compare the suburbs with the city, it's apples to Volkswagens, especially many of the nicer suburbs. They also get a little crazy with the Kool Aid when it comes to counting suburbs. Example: I'm from Ann Arbor, which is counted as a suburb, unless you're from Ann Arbor. We have absolutely nothing to do with Detroit, don't consider ourselves part of Detroit, and shouldn't be considered a part of it because we're so freaking far away from it; yet it is often considered a suburb and is probably included in that population number you referenced.
Point is that facts aren't always facts and topics are always a good thing to stick with.. now back to why people don't and shouldn't trust sapd.
