San Antonio woman wins Miss Texas... of pole dancing

Athletes competed for the crown of Miss Texas Pole Dance over the weekend in Dallas, demonstrating strength, flexibility and balance.

San Antonio's own Jennifer Huff, a married mother of two children, was the winner of the 2011 competition. (Full article)
While this "sport" has changed a lot since I was a "fan" of it, truth is that it has become much more mainstream and fitness-oriented since the days of being featured in Mötley Crüe videos!

Congrats to Mrs Huff, her submission video is available at the above 'full story' link; but since this is family-friendly forum I decided against embedding it directly into my post. Her attire is about what you would expect, and nothing less than what you'd see at the beach; but I understand it's not to everyone's liking so those who are interested can watch it at the link.

Here's a pic from the competition, you can't deny that her gymnastic skills are quite impressive!

Cheers! M2

I know pole dancing has becoming quite the fitness fad in the last..however many years, I don't really recall when I first started hearing about pole dancing as a way to get fit rather than a way to pay for college.

However, I'll just get on the elliptical, I don't think I need to be that in touch with my inner pole dancer.

I was wondering when someone would comment in this thread

I saw a very nice pole dance sequence in a movie not too long ago with two Playboy Playmate twins. Probably the best sequence I've ever seen in a movie, except maybe Demi Moore in "Striptease".

California and Nevada are bankrupt, so people are coming here for jobs. San Antonio's good economy is because drug money gets circulated and lots of people here live off the government. Pole dancing is awesome Moderator cut: see comment

I think b/c it has "pole dancing" attatched to it. Pole dancing=strippers. Those days are long gone. It's not like they were topless or nude. Just some physically fit women doing their thing. I like it

Agreed!

I wonder if they refuse to drink Coke since it originally had cocaine in it (nine milligrams per glass prior to 1903)?

Spurs Silver Dancers auditions

Bright smiles, high hopes and skimpy dance outfits filled the AT&T Center on Tuesday night as two dozen beautiful women competed for a spot on the 2011-2012 Silver Dancers.

Spurs fans -- and Silver Dancers fans -- cheered for their favorites as the dancers moved and grooved to the dance routine learned earlier in the week. After judges carefully evaluated each of the performances, and some brief entertainment from the Spurs Coyote, 15 women were presented with roses and a position on the dance team.
