I would go back to Louisiana, invest in my city, and watch my money multiply.

Y'all know that you cannot remain anonymous, right?

You name will be released. That's part of the deal.

What would I do? Move to that island paradise I've been dreaming of.

The splurging:

I'd buy a $500,000 home (with a pool) in the Dominions PAID IN CASH, no loan. I'd buy a Mercedes Benz with full coverage, and everything PAID WITH CASH, no loan.

The giving back:

I'd start my own non-profit organization to help the elderly, low-income students, and working-poor families who need food to eat, basic clothes for school, eyeglasses, (some) dental work, free work uniforms for rent so low-income individuals will have nice clothing to use for job interviews, resume services (jobs tips, placement services etc), and other basic necessities that people in need would benefit from.

I would take a very significant portion of what I have left and invest in real estate and buy up lots of "good" homes paid with cash and rent them out to individuals so that I have residual money coming in.

I might also consider: opening up my own private security company, marketing company, and or other projects or restaurant businesses.

aside from the usual things people do when they come into an extremely large chunk of change, i would buy this board and ban a few nitwits who are a bit backwards.

as far as friends/family?

friends get nothing. last thing i need is people coming back to me after they spent the money i gave them, asking for more.

family is different, as all of my blood relatives have been disowned and i only have in-laws left, all of whom are well-to-do. id probably help out my mother in law since she has helped my wife and i out in more ways than i can imagine. probably her close friends john and judy also, since they helped my wife and i move and didnt ask for a dime.

not entirely true. you can set up a trust to handle the lottery winnings for you, which can be represented by your lawyer, which allows you to remain anonymous.

First, crap my pants then give my immediate family X amount of cash and tell them that's it. Don't ask for no more. Then I'd buy a cannon. Yeah buddy...

I would pay off our house and cars... Set up college/trust funds for our kiddos... Have my husband quit his part-time job... Make sure both sets of parents are okay... Plan for annual family vacations to places that I have always wanted to take the kids to, The Grand Canyon, Washington DC, Niagra Falls, Yellowstone National Park, Redwood National Park, anywhere we could see The Northern Lights... Have our backyard professionally landscaped...

After all of the above I think life would just go on as usual... I've been a Domestic Goddess for the past 8.5 years and hubs loves his job too much to quit working, so really, I can't see that too much of our lives would change...

Pay off my debt and everyone I know, give some to charity, invest in reseach & technology and invest in preforming Texas schools hoping to build one of the finest schools in the nation.

When you accept the winnings, your name will be posted by the lottery board.

I guess you can try doing it in with a trust...but I don't think I could wait that long to claim the cash (waiting for it to be set up).
