Hello Guys,

I am new in this forum. I have questions regarding teaching. I finished my degree of Bachelor of Secondary Education with Mathematics as my major from other country. And I am currently relocated here in San Antonio, Texas with Green Card already. I want to teach with my profession here and my questions are:
1. How can I get my Texas Teaching Certification?; and
2. What are the procedures;
Any idea about this? Please share

Your replies are highly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Glady

The link below will take you to the Texas Board of Education website and its requirements for a teaching. You will likely not be able to get a job before school begins, but may be able to get the ball rolling and be hired next school year, or maybe even as a late-hire during the spring if needed (late-hires are not very common, though). You will need to take the test for certification and that takes time to schedule, then you need to wait to get the results. The website should be a big help, though.

Default Substituting

I would also suggest getting in touch with the local school districts and inquiring about substitute teaching. A background in Math is always a plus.

Thank you guys for the details, I wonder if I have to study first in teaching training program and after that I may be able to take the test for Texas Teacing Certification.
