I know it was touched upon in the thread about the pet cemetery on Snowden, but I have passed by the pet cemetery on Prue Road just east of Babcock on numerous occasions but today I decided to stop and take a look around.

It appears this pet cemetery was active from the 1970s until the early 1990s based on the grave markers I saw, although I did notice one in the very back that was dated 2009. Nature is starting to take over and it doesn't look like anyone is keeping it up. Someone, I suspect from the trailer park that sits on one side of it, has wheeled in an old basketball goal; and many of the markers are overgrown.

But it is still a loving testimony to the pets buried there. Here are some pics I took with my phone, sorry for the lousy resolution but it was the only thing I had to take pictures with...

Cheers! M2

I grew up right down the road on Prue. Used to ride there on our bicycles when we were little kids in the early 70's.
I remember being there one day, and this old fart that lived behind it at the time ran us off with a shotgun....guess he thought we were causing trouble or something.
Not sure how long the cemetary has been there, but it's always been there as far back as I can remember.
There used to be people there every now and then that cut the grass and kept it looking nice, but I imagine they have gotten old or died off....dunno.

That's really sweet. The way the f&^%$ around here treat their pets nowadays, it's hard to believe that some people have actual relationship with the 4 legged critters. My dog is tucked in here next to me as I write, but I'm sure the neighborhood creatures will be left outside in the freezing weather tonight. All I can say is those idiot animal keepers don't know what they're missing! There's a special place in hell for cruelty.

Very sweet. My big ole pup is sleeping next to me right now, too. Sweet little darlings. And I agree, HotRodMan.

Our two Westies have more of a run of this house than we do...

I was very touched by the pet graves at this cemetery, I can completely understand how these folks miss these animals. We still miss the dogs that have left us very much...

Cheers! M2

Oh wow. I had no idea. I'd help out.

I've got one of my fur baby mutts right next to me, keeping me warm on this cool morning and he enjoying the fact that he can be on the couch. My other is laying by the backdoor taking in the sun. The life, huh?
