Hey, guys. I need a good place with Happy Hour specials that serves food in the NE area. Actually U.C. or Converse areas.

Thanks!

HOULIHAN'S!!!

Best place I've been too - it's more North Central (Blanco and 1604) but the $5 apps and half price drinks and beer are the best.

Chuys is good, 281 & 1604. I also think Salsalito's has specials, Nacogdoches Rd. South of 1604.

Chili's is where we are suppose to go, but we wanted something different. Thank you though!

Turtle_Mom, thank you, but those are a little out of our way. We wanted to stay close to where we work and the majority of us live. I appreciate it though!

I'm telling you Houlihans is worth the drive. They have a reverse Happy Hour at 9 pm too! They are building another one at the Rim, so maybe they will expand to the East as well.

Ditto on Houlihan's! We didn't try it for a while because the parking lot is always so full but it's really no thard to get in. I guess most people go straight after work and are traveling in their own cars. Never had a bad bite there!

Does anyone know--(I think it's already been verified but I can't remember for sure)--but is that the same Houlihan's that used to be at North Star? If so, then yes, they would definitely be worth the trip. And my husband will be very excited to hear there is one going in at the Rim!! We loved their french onion soup.

Turtle Mom-What about the Fox Grove area. Tell me why do you like Houlihan or what so special about it.

There is nothing really in our area, although we are hoping that with the Resort there will be some nice places up by the hotel.

Houlihan's has $5 apps for happy hour and they are pretty good. Like Calamari with a soy dipping sauce, HUGE chicken nachos, a tuna sashimi type dish, fried asparagus, and the best $1.99 mini desserts! They also have Long Island Iced Tea in several different types (Tennessee, Raspberry, Melon, Texas Tea etc.) in a pitcher for $3.00 during happy hour. Very nice!

What they seem to do is appeal to the women, while still being a bar and grill. It's always packed, but we seem to eventually get a table in the bar. I've eaten meals there too and they are also good. The Gorgonzola burger is awesome and so is the Tuscan bean salad.

(Sorry to highjack the thread - but we're still talking about Happy Hour!)

I saw there is a Mulligans going in near Redland Rd and 281, maybe that will be a good place too? There are a few places on Stone Oak that are fun to go to, but Houlihan's is my favorite by far.
