I say it is not. I worked in the Cupples-Guadalupe-Gen. McMullen area and I say THAT is the West side. Yet, in the mornings on my way to work anytime I hear of an accident anywhere in the Culebra-1604-151 area they call that the West Side. How can that be?

I think the term is Far West Side. All relativity IMO.

Anyplace in town is 15 miles from the "real" hood. The far-west side is great and hundreds of thousands of people think so.

Ya know...just 10 yrs ago where we all live on the FAR NW side was all grazing cattle....so NO...the West side keeps expanding towards Castroville. Soon we will all live in "outer Castroville" vs the FAR, FAR west side of SA....LOL

if we're talking straight forward hemispheric divisions of the city of san antonio, then yes it is on the west side of san antonio. not necessarily "The Westside 'Hood". though, it seems like 'sides of san antonio aren't very straight forward to begin with.

Iv'e seen some posters here who think anything west of Bandera Rd is the absolute ghetto and should be avoided if you value your life...they're not going to distinguish between the west side and the far west side.

But that's okay, we have enough traffic here already, we don't need more people moving out this way

Because if you look at a map and know an ounce of geography and your cardinal directions you will see this is the west side. It may not be the old/inner city "West Side" when you speak of historical terms (as in, if you were talking about the neighborhood, "the west side"), but it is the western side of the city.

And no its not Northwest. Six Flags, the Rim, and Shavano Park are northwest. Its not North anything. Its no where near North anything. Its a straight line west of the city center. =West Side.

It may be the FAR west side but it is still the west side none-the-less.

Yes it's the west side. If you look at it on a map, it is the FAR west side. They do that just for geographical purposes.
