I am soooo sorry!
I've made such a big boo boo.
The two plates are stuck together and I've put both of them stacked together at the back!
Hahaha... Thanks for all the responses.

nice! to be honest, I thought the same when I got my new plates. they do come pretty well stuck together. almost need a screwdriver to pry them apart. and the new ones don't have as many indents as the old ones.

While it depends on the police dept if they can use this as a reason to pull you over, it is no longer a violation or requirement beginning sept 1st of this year to have the front license plate.

Edit: Nevermind, I looked it up and it looks like they fixed the mistake in the bill. 2 plates are required

I drove a car for a long time (until it got totalled overnight while parked) and only ever had a back plate. Good thing I never got a ticket. I never knew that was illegal.

Have had no front plate for 7 years now..you won't have a problem. Supposedly it's a $200 fine...but they don't bother you. Was pulled over once for something else (and given a warning)..cop didn't say anything about no front plate...I'd get the plate if i were you...but don't feel like it's any hurry.

I am trying to get through to the dealership to ask them about it. In the meantime, I would like to find out if there a place to make a duplicate car plate? How long does it take?

Thanks.
I got pulled over for not having a front plate

I asked him what if I had it in the window

he said no

Rule...put both on or pay a $150 fine

I got it taken off my record by going to the precinct to pay a $12 fine

It must be true. I am driving with only one plate (in the back) for the last 22 years. Got stopped by the cops several times (warnings, no break light, burn out light bulb, expired sticker etc. ) and never heard a word about missing front plate.

That loophole/oversight has been fixed - state law requires 2 plates.....but feel free to ignore it until you get pulled over and cited.
