Does anyone know if and when waffle house is coming to SA? I used to live in PA and that's the best!!! Yeah, not too good looking and small, but the best! Let me know.

They used to be here. It was probably San Antonio's love affair with the breakfast taco rather than the waffle that ran them off, but I don't know for sure. I've seen them in Houston, though.

Are you talking the small buildings, yellow roof? Love them. I used to go there with my grandmother in Georgia when I would visit her in the summer...

Waffle House? Isn't that the place where you can get your hash browns 'smothered, slathered, covered, buttered, etc'? Man, you can get so many toppings on your potatoes that it's your whole meal! They are de-lish! I didn't even think about them not being in SA! Now I'm gonna crave it!

You know what's better than a Waffle House? A Huddle House!! I have friends in Alabama and both Waffle Houses and Huddle Houses are all over the place. The omelets they server are whipped up in a milk-shake machine, makes the most lightest, airy omelet. Ditto for the pancakes. I will say, I've never had a waffle at one though, and the waffles at the Waffle House are pretty good.

If you haven't tried it yet, try the Magnolia Pancake house on west Avenue. Pretty darn good.

Default Waffle House

The closest location to San Antonio will be off Ben White Blvd in Austin.

I like Jim Gaffigan's description of Waffle House: "A gas station restroom that serves pancakes."

Hahaha, that's sorta what I was thinking. I thought those places (Denny's IHOP Waffle House) all have big pictures on the menus so the drunks can go in late at night and just point to what they want. I didn't realize so many sober people ate there!

And Magnolia Pancake Haus should never be uttered in the same thread as Waffle House. That's like re-directing someone who is craving Little Red Barn to Ruth's Chris.
