Hi
I was looking at houses in the Brookwood subdivision (right outside of Windcrest off of Crestway Rd). They all seem pretty cheap. Any reason why I would want to avoid that area? It seems pretty quiet whenever I drive through there.

Thanks

Right now the East side of town has a lot of bad neighborhoods - I would avoid the east side if at all possible. North Central or even the Northwest Side near Alamo Ranch would be muc better long term.

The area she is referring to is not east side it's northeast and it's not a bad area at all.

Insomniac is mostly correct in that the area is the northeast side and the northeast side is not all bad. However, while Windcrest is nice and well policed, the area just outside of it is high crimed and becoming depressed. The mall nearby was run out of business by the criminal element. The area/neighborhood down Walzem Road called the Glen is one of the worse areas in the county. The city of San Antonio will not annex it which is why the Sheriff's office provides the law enforcement. No area is exclusively filled with bad people but the Glen seems to have more than it's fair share. Please become familiar with more of the area before buying.

I live in Brookwood, next to Windcrest. There is very little crime. A very quiet neighborhood.
