Patrick Richardson and his wife, Cary have purchased La Fogata. Perhaps they reestablish its greatness when Jesse Cavilllos owned it.

It used to be a destination event; however, over the years, it has fallen down.

Patrick owns the Silo and his wife's family was in the restaurant business as well.

Good to hear! Remember going there a lot when we arrived in the early 80's. By the time they expanded for the 3rd or 4th time and switched ownership, the name remained but quality had seriously declined...Calvillo's subsequent places became our go-to's for northside mexican food.

I had been there three years ago or so on a business dinner with a big group and it was good. Took my lady there six months ago and it was awful. The chicken in my whatever was obviously cooked the week before then ground up real fine, with a little sand added.

Legendary, this place was.
Margaritas would knock me out for a few hours.
We spent many hours in our youth in that gorgeous outdoor eating area.

I ate at la fogata for dinner tonight. It was not that good. Hopefully it was just "transition pains".

I usually go there once a month and never been as disappointed as I was tonight.

Our waiter was top notch and super friendly though. He was also a new face to me. Always kept drinks refilled.
